Animal Services

Biomedical Research Model Services is the provider of laboratory animal care and husbandry for the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health’s AAALAC accredited animal program. As the largest animal program at UW-Madison, we provide support for animal procurement, housing, clinical care, and research support.

Research Services

Biomedical Research Models Services (BRMS)  Research Service Core have skilled staff that can perform mouse and rat techniques for your studies. We provide this service in the Breeding Core facility or can travel to your lab to assist with your protocol approved procedures. We have recently added a Gnotobiotics Core to our animal program.

Veterinary Care

Biomedical Research Model Services is teamed up with the universities Research Animal Resources and Compliance department to provide the highest veterinary care for your animal models. Along with ensuring animal health, our veterinary services include breeding colony management, anesthesia & surgical training support, protocol pre-review, extra serology testing, PCR cell testing, and equipment sterilization.
